Nadia asked, “So what’s the story this morning?”

The four of them sat around the breakfast, they had about thirty minutes before arriving in the next system.

Chrystal said, “Rochippe is the name of the planet according to the Kascorix database. The race there is reptilian in nature, bipedal like a dinosaur. The database indicates they’re herbivores and were quite peaceful. They were at a similar technological level as the nineteen fifties on Earth when they were invaded. Radio, and television was a fairly new invention, and they had airplanes but not yet commercialized.

“Of course, that was over a hundred years ago, over five generations. Like the rest, they’ll have to start over.”

Nadia sighed, “It feels like it will never end, another seventy worlds like the next?”

Chrystal nodded, “They’ve done a lot of damage, these are just the last of the civilizations that exist in Andromeda, they’ve brought a lot more to extinction. It’s one of the reasons I don’t have a problem with the concept of removing them from space.”

He agreed with that sentiment, sometimes he got angry enough at the idea of what they’d done to contemplate more than that step, but he’d never actually do it. It would make him like them if he annihilated them as he felt they deserved. He wouldn’t do it.

Even if he wanted to. So he kept telling himself anyway.

They finished up breakfast in a comfortable silence, and headed to the bridge with a few minutes to spare…
